Calixto Tay (Wei Kiat) sold his first company when he was 21. Before co-founding his F&B Business Intelligence company, Hoi.US, in 2016, Calixto founded and bootstrapped Originally US, a mobile app consultancy from scratch to more than USD 1 million in revenue within two years. Originally US later expanded beyond Singapore by establishing an office in Ho Chi Minh City.

Calixto’s keen interest in leveraging innovation and information technology to better people’s lives began shortly after he picked up programming at the age of 13. Among his more notable creations, The Wicked (2006), an online puzzle game with licensing deals with both Singapore Press Holdings and M1 (Singapore’s premier telco), an online textbook marketplace BookINBookOUT (2009) that was acquired in 2010, and Oompr Social Marketplace (2013), a social network based eCommerce startup supported and funded by Spring Singapore.

Calixto has been featured in major newspapers and won multiple entrepreneurial, leadership and innovation awards, including the Information Technology Management Association’s Future Information Technology Leader Award (2013), the Singapore Computer Society’s IT Youth Award (2014), and Most Innovative Solution Award from Singapore’s Land Transport Authority (2016).

Calixto also actively contributes to Singapore’s startup ecosystem as a Entrepreneurship Mentor at Singapore Management University.
