Avant.Degarde was literally a daydream turned reality. One day while shopping online, now-owners, Aaron and Giovanna (we’re known as Pete and Doris online) suddenly had a vision of having a shop on LJ, just like most people.
But we were not most people. And so our shop should say that too. Born 26th January, our conceptual store revolves around the idea of Old is Hot. We do everything the old way — sourcing by hand, assembly by hand and we even bake from scratch. Influenced by one-of-a-kind arts, eclecctic british fashion, chocolate and monochrome, a little diggin through our stocks might just find you more than expected.
At Avant.Degarde, we carry a whole list of stuff for you. Our pride lies in our handmade accessories which are not displayed unless requested. Upon request, a catalog of our designs are then shown to you. Minimal customisations are most accepted (i.e. change of chain length, a few more bead etc.).
However, as we only support uniqueness, each design is available in 3 ready pieces and space for 2 more orders are accepted once the first 3 is sold out. This ensures that only 5 of each piece is anywhere in this world.
Our designs stray from the norm, and always has some element of surprise in it. Fret not, we design with wearability in mind, with white ceramic flowers being our signature.
Other than accessories, we scout vintage markets in Melbourne and nooks and crannies in Singaopre to bring you the best vintage apparel we can find. We have gone from baking brownies for Valentine’s Day to hatching white-chocolate eggs for this year’s Christmas.
