China AJC students escaped to USA

Is it because of the poisonous insects?

From http://topmleehsienloong.blogspot.com/

2 China ‘Scholars’ Run Away from JC
Just got this report on my table.

2 China scholars from Anderson Junior College were found absent from class for several days. When school staff checked their hostel, they found that the students had packed up and gone to USA!

Apparently these ’smart’ students found out that they don’t need A level results to gain entry into US universities. They secretly applied for an American University. When they got accepted by one, bought their air-tickets and then run!

What can the Singapore Government do? Sue them? Recover our money? They were not bonded wor.

Many more foreign students will follow their example. :)

Caught on audio : 世上没有免费的午餐?有!在新加坡! 给你吃,给你住,给你上学。念完了,咱拍拍屁股走人!一分钱也不用还。 新加坡政府, 笨! 哈哈哈!

These students were brought over to study in Secondary 3. Gifted? Many are older than our local Secondary 3 students.

When I was in China recruiting students to study in Singapore, I often receive money sandwiched within the pages of application forms. Some Chinese parents mistook that I was recruiting ASEAN scholars for the Singapore Government. The highest amount I found was US$8,000. All the money was returned. Can you imagine when the real actual people go recruiting ……

Shockingly, these foreign ASEAN scholars only need to pass one subject to stay on. Not like Singaporean students, must pass English Language and another how many subjects ah?

Our Government sets aside huge amounts of China Fund for schools to recruit these students. Now, I heard another Indian Fund is set up. Wow!

Singaporeans are always the losers.

I’m tracking these 2 China students down …. I have their photos and particulars, thanks to my sources. Details should be coming in…..

Update : Police, CPIB, PM Office…. they are going to be busy. I’m going to be dead. Going into hiding. :P

ACJC Student blogs on ragging: ACJC is part of a school of elite JCs in Singapore which are not meant for prudes anyway.

Here are some insights on what an ACJC student feel about the media publicity over the ragging incident.

From an ACJC Student, Javier Yeo

Ok first of all, I don’t even understand what the hell is that reporter’s problem. If it was that such big a deal, shouldn’t the girl be traumatized? She would have gone for counseling, leave school and stay at home and not eat, turn anorexic and run away when she sees a cake, eventually culminating in her suicide.

EVIDENTLY that did not happen.

So, this “concerned” retard’s argument doesn’t even hold.

Secondly, tagging the video “loser” is done in FUN not to mock and ridicule the person. Ok to be fair, the whole attempt was to make fun of the birthday girl. But that is what happens when you are a teenager! This is how, you learn to rise up from all these “mocking” nonsense and develop some sense of humour and become a social being, not some moron who stays behind the computer screen and analyze these videos secretly wishing that someone would pay her that much attention.

AND I MUST say that this was done for fun. It was obviously very elaborately planned and no one would give 2 hoots to show someone they care that its their birthday if all they want to do is to make fun of them. USE YOUR BRAINS! Put it to better use.

“It is an awful sight and there is no way the victim is enjoying this.”

Err excuse me, are you the victim? If you’re not then DON’T SHOVE WORDS INTO HER MOUTH. That’s worse then stuffing her clothes with cake and milk.

“The birthday girl even broke down and cried in the video.”

And at the end of it all, a staff member was seen admonishing the students not for doing these to her, but for messing up the place.

“Dragged and humiliated”

First of all, you are not even the discipline master, let alone a teacher. So thats one reason that you should shut your trap. Secondly, I BELIEVE that our school teacher has a better sense of judgment then you do SINCE YOU ONLY SAW THE VIDEO and he was actually there. If the girl was REALLY CRYING don’t you think that he would have done something? Like I said USE YOUR BRAIN! Gosh.

“And to top it off, with reference to the attached picture , “tagged loser.jpg”, it’s disheartening to see that the person who uploaded the footage actually personally wrote “loser” as one of the tags to the video.

“Is it merely a celebration on the surface or just a facade to intentionally cause emotional distress to someone?”

No no I’m sure the computer will tag loser instead of the person. OF COURSE THE PERSON WHO UPLOAD MUST PERSONALLY TAG LA! RETARD! I’m so sorry but we’re not that advanced yet. We must wait longer for all computers to have AI. And even so, I doubt the computer would be smarter to understand that “loser” in this case is not derogatory at all but just plain fun.

“What kind of a birthday celebration is this?”

One that you clearly won’t get to enjoy coz lets face it. No. One. Cares.

“I do not want to be the next person nor anyone else to be in such a state.”

Awwwww…well here’s a comforting thought! You won’t have to worry! You didn’t have to worry, and you won’t have to worry.

I’m just sooo!!!!!! ANNOYED! That someone would have so much free time to bother about ridiculously insignificant stuff like this. If you really care so much go and save the Earth! Stop global warming. Now THAT is an embarrassment that the whole of Mankind has to live through, not some stupid HARMLESS video which clearly has no malice intended.

“I am not exaggerating this incident but if such things were to happen to me. I will not be able to control my emotions and I wouldn’t be able to study in such an environment with peers like this around. Unmistakably, I will be mentally and emotionally hurt being embarrassed in front of everyone in my school, and also the entire footage being uploaded onto the internet allowing everyone else in the world to watch me being humiliated.”

It’s fine. ACJC is part of a school of elite JCs in Singapore which are not meant for prudes anyway.

Just in case the blog got deleted, here is a screenshot..

JC students are just so… unbelievable nowadays compared to when I was one.

Unlike AJC, Korea schools going all out to ensure exam candidates have a safe environment..

From Straits Times, 13 Nov.

SEOUL - RUSH hour was rescheduled, aircraft landings were delayed and even the stock market opened late as more than half a million South Korean children sat a crucial examination on Thursday.

Parents could be seen praying outside schools where their kids were taking the College Scholastic Ability Test (CSAT), a decisive factor in determining future careers.

At Incheon city near Seoul younger students and graduates lined up outside a high school, cheering on test applicants and handing them cups of coffee and tea before their ordeal.

Military training exercises nationwide were suspended and military aircraft grounded to avoid noise during audio foreign language tests, a spokesman for the Joint Chiefs of Staff told wires agencies.

Seven inbound flights to the country’s main airport Incheon were told to stay at an altitude of 10,000 feet as students took the first audio test that lasted 13 minutes.

‘We have been forewarning all airlines about the restriction over the past month so that they may adjust flight schedules to avoid landing during the hearing test sessions,’ an air traffic controller said.

The stock market, government agencies and many private firms opened one hour later to ease morning traffic jams that could cause students to be late.

‘Dealers and investors take it for granted since CSAT is considered so important in this country,’ said Mr Hong Joon Yon, spokesman for the Korea Securities Dealers Association.

At the presidential Blue House First Lady Kim Yoon Ok reportedly sent rice cakes to the children of Blue House employees who were due to take the exam.

Rice cakes, whose stickiness symbolises sticking to success, are a favourite lucky gift for CSAT day together with candies.

Education authorities said about 590,000 students sat the day-long exam at nearly 1,000 centres. To prevent cheating, they were banned from carrying electronic gadgets such as mobile phones or MP3 players.

Some 14,000 police officers as well as 6,800 taxi drivers and more than 4,200 police vehicles were on stand-by to help students arrive in time, Yonhap news agency said.

Subways and buses ran more frequently in the morning.

In the southeastern city of Ulsan, 11 emergency vehicles and 22 rescuers were deployed at key intersections to help students who overslept to arrive at test sites on time.

Critics say the CSAT exam tests rote learning and sometimes involves expensive private tutoring.

It plays a decisive role in deciding which colleges and universities students enter, and thus their future careers. In Korea, great emphasis is placed on attendance at a prestigious university.

An estimated 200 stressed students commit suicide in South Korea every year, according to police statistics.

‘CSAT tends to favour students whose brains are crammed through rote learning and it fails to select students with potential and creativity,’ Mr Song In Soo, an educational activist, told the wires.

‘We must shift to a more advanced system through which students are tested, observed and developed over a long time instead of a one-off, multiple-answer test like CSAT.’ — AFP

Private A-Level Candidates at Anderson Junior College attacked by poisonous insects!!

Having been a student at Anderson Junior College, it is my opinion that the school administrations are more concerned about the results than providing a safe and conducive educational environment.

Here are some of my favourites, with photos, taken during my short stay there.

This water cooler was located outside the school hall, and was in this state throughout the entire period when the JC1s were having orientation in the hall. According to the OM, they cleaned out the water storage tank and algae accumlated there. Since orientation activities induce thirst and this water cooler was nearest to the hall where orientation was held, I suspected that more than 50% of the JC1s drank this before I noticed it and report it to AJC authority.

Immediately after I reported this incident, all filter covers on water coolers in AJC were immediately replaced with opaque ones so as to “prevent exposure to sunlight and prevent algae growth.”

This happened suddenly, and for the entire day it was hanging there. There was no sign to warn people to stay away from it, and AJC students, being slightly academically inclined and having nothing else in the brains, happily use the table under it to study without any fear.

This is the CORE escape route for most of the entire school’s population in the Fire Escape plan. The school had promised to fix this when I was there as a JC1 student. It was still there when I graduated.

Now a bunch of private candidates who were unluckily assigned to take the exams in Anderson Junior College were attacked by the main residents in the campus - a huge presence of poisonous insects. At least one of the candidates had to seek treatment at clinics.

When questioned, the Vice-Principal of AJC, said something along this line, “We spray insecticides once every 2 weeks. So I donno why this is happening!”

Here is an excerpt from a complain letter written to Today.

Bugs attackat exam centre

Private A-levels candidate had arms swollen with insect bites after a weekin junior college test centre

Letter from Peter Pius

I AM writing this letter as a concerned parent and as a very concerned citizen.
My daughter is sitting for her A-level examinations this year as a private candidate. She was assigned an exam centre at Anderson Junior College in Ang Mo Kio, and given a seat in a classroom on the ground floor of the building.
The exams started last Monday. Within the first two days, private candidates sitting for the examination were complaining of insect bites. They took insect repellent into the classroom with them. On Thursday, someone from the school came and sprayed some insecticide.
However, by the weekend, my daughter’s arms were so swollen with insect bites (picture) we had to rush her to the 24-hour clinic to seek treatment. I was close to tears upon seeing the condition of my daughter’s arms.
I want to ask the Ministry of Education what the basic requirements in the selection of exam centres are. Does the ministry send representatives to inspect exam centres?

I am sure students are facing enough pressure coping with their exams. The least we could do is provide them a decent environment in which to give their best. We are a first-class nation. This should never have happened in Singapore. I hope the Ministry of Education will look into this and take proactive steps to address the issue.

And people, still remember the sexuality talk saga where AJC hired a bunch of religious guys who make students write down things like “I shall not masturbabe.” “IVF is bad.”? It first came under media attention due to yours truly’s blog.

What? This is a MODEL GP ESSAY?

This essay was photocopied and distributed to everyone in Anderson Junior College by the HOD of GP as a piece of model essay for everyone to learn from. It was given the highest grade for that question.

Some quotes:

Since the intention of computers and ingenious soft wares like Microsoft, the number of games for the computer is also inumerable.

…Playstations and XBOX…can be plugged into the computer

Games such as Warcraft allows the games to build an army to plot them against evil aliens that are out to destory earth.

Counterstrike, the gamer get to plan his army to save the earth too.

And the conclusion of the essay?

But the point here is that the intention is good, which is to sve people and eliminate the evil enemies.
