I was at Serangoon bus interchange waiting for a bus to my girlfriend’s house when I noticed a mistake in one of the signs that is so stupid and typical of Singapore as part of its transition from a first world country to the third.
Notice that on the sign for bus no. 101, the last bus commences at “2400″ hrs. Is there such a time as 2400 hrs?
This mistake kind of reminds me of when I was 4 years old sitting for a test at a IT educational centre, and there was a question where a picture of an analogue clock showing 2pm was displayed and I was asked to write down the time depicted by the clock. I promptly wrote 1o’clock and 60 minutes.

I saw the same error at Clementi interchange! It’s their “style”~ Lol…
1. LTA doesn’t manage the bus interchanges, much less the signs. The bus companies do.
2. Refer to this. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/24-hour_clock#Midnight_00:00_and_24:00
Quote: Where convenient, the notation 24:00 may also be used to refer to midnight at the end of a given date—that is, 24:00 of some day is the same time as 00:00 of the following day.
Not so stupid now isn’t it?
So you were pretty stupid when 4 years old…
ok…

0000hrs might be the more technically-correct option, but 2400 makes sense for denoting the ‘closing time’ and is actually relatively commonly used.
there was the same mistake at clementi interchange. i think 2400hrs is their “style”…
Thanks for pointing out!
