NUS student blames brother’s braces treatment for being unable to get an iPhone

From Peanuts Land

i can’t get an iPhone all because of my brother!
i have came to this conclusion about me buying iPhone.

really really no money to buy lo.
after touching it last friday, i can never forget the touch and how it feels like.
it is nothing compared to omnia, though omnia is so far the only phone comparable to iPhone.

haiz.. it is all my brother’s fault!
):
its all because of him la.
if he didn’t put braces, then i could have gotten like 4 iPhones at least!
What the hell right!
Why did he have to put braces la..
everytime he visits the dental clinic, $200 bucks fly away just like that.
just so that he can have a few pieces of metal on his teeth. ):
the accumulated $200 bucks per session can make up to one substantial white/black beautiful, stylish and valuable gadget lo!
):

yeah. so the reason why i am not getting my iPhone yet, it all thanks to my brother and his ugly crooked teeth!
haiz..
when will iPhone be mine!!?

i feel depressed whenever i think of this.
especially when my K800i starts to hates me more and more..
every other day, it will give me problems la!
):
sad me..

someone, buy me an iPhone please..

and Singtel can you just stop sending me emails about iPhone. its tempting me! ):

I may be wrong though. If that blogger blames her brother because she is the sole breadwinner and all her hard earn money that she earned herself has to go into the brother’s braces, at least it is still understandable that she is so unhappy.

But if it is because of her brother’s braces that her parents could not buy her an iPhone, oh wtf. Can’t she buy one herself? Can’t she find a part time work or something and get herself one? Why the reliance on parents that is so typical in primary school and secondary kids for materialistic stuff so evidence in a girl who is already in university? I am an NSF, drawing only about 400 dollars per month, which is roughly the pay you get when you teach 2 secondary school tutions per month, and I have a high end In-Ear-Monitor costing $380, MP4 Player (that has more features than iPhone with the exception of wifi) costing $399, and portable amplifier costing $300, and Hobby R/C car costing $200, Brushless Motor System for the car costing $300 etc. And I didn’t even ask my parents for a single cents.

Even if she has no money to pay for an iPhone because she is the one who needs to finance the brother’s braces, there is also something very wrong about the mind of someone who would blame her brother’s medical treatment for being unable to get something materialistic. The brother’s braces is a need. The iPhone is a want. A need is clearly more important. Surely Uni graduate cannot be that selfish? The NUS mission comprises three mutually reinforcing thrusts: quality education, high impact research and service to country and society.

Perhaps NUS should concentrate on teaching family values.

This entry is not to flame the blogger in question or anything. Everyone has his or her own wants but when you blame a family member’s need for not being able to get your own want, I feel quite strongly about it. I hope that blogger in question would grow up.
