Saw it at a shop, found it to be quite interesting, went home to research, fell in love with it.
Why I want a digital camera? Because I have none. (All photos you see on my blog are either taken using my Hi-MD Audio player with a built in camera, my PSP Chotto Shot, or my gf’s sony camera.)
Why I want Canon Powershot A710IS? Because it has image stabilization, 6X OPTICAL zoom, and full manual control over all aspects of the camera when taking photos (shutter speed, aperture size etc), while being relatively compact and cheap ($420 according to some guy at hardwarezone.com, $499 at Canon retail shops.).

Also do comment if you have any recommendations for camera at fits the following criteria and cost less than 500 dollars:
1) Must have full manual
2) Must have vibration reduction or image stablization
3) More than 4X optical zoom
4) Long battery life
5) Fast boot up time
6) Large LCD screen
7) Uses AA batteries
(I am now also looking at the Nikon P5000. I am now trying to get quotation from various reputable camera shops in Singapore via email)
