I sometimes wonder if parents nowadays have any brains at all.
My girlfriend was blog surfing when she noticed tonnes of parents asking their kids to go for Business degree, when they totally had no passion, talent or interest in that field. The money is good, they say. I ask, “What money?”
Business by itself isn’t really a job, and getting people with no talent, passion or interest to go into business is an almost definite way of dumping money into the rubbish dump, together with a bonus probability of the kid getting bankrupted in the near future.
The parents may even end up with no money for their own coffins.
Notes to those applying for Business just because their parents ask them to, stay out.
The same apply to fucktards applying for other Uni degrees as well. You have no interest, no passion, no talent in whatever you applied for. There is little chance you will take a related job when you graduate, and you are going to have a hard time getting a first class honours. Just fuck off.

Hey, I understand ur grudge against those who have applied for uni courses which they have no passion for. But pls understand that sometimes it is necessary. As you have said, a graduate cannot expect to take up a related job after graduation. Isn’t this reason enough to apply for a course that can at least guarantee a salary after graduation?
Also, I find your use of expletives rather distasteful. It is true that I cannot always expect meaningful or neutral discussion on a blog, but this is pushing it. Why are you calling them f********? How would you like it if someone call you that because he lost a uni place to you? Yes, emotions can run high, but a gentleman does not allow that to affect his judgment of people.
This is just my opinion. We are all entitled to our opinions on our blogs, as a wise blogger once said. But a good writer does not make hasty judgment and expletives.
“Isn’t this reason enough to apply for a course that can at least guarantee a salary after graduation?”
Erm, are you sure I was saying that business is something that will guarantee a salary? And what do you mean by “guarantee a salary”? Do you go into Uni just becos you want to have a paying job? Narrow view of the world here…
Expletives are colourful addition to an otherwise dull blog entry. And I aren’t in an exactly good mood either.
True, business studies do not guarantee a job, but it does up your chances by a lot. The same applies for any uni courses.
The harsh truth is, few people are lucky enough to carve a career out of their passions. Even if they do, just being good at their hobby is not enough. For example, an aspiring artist may want to consider taking up business studies in addition to arts, so that he can set up his own media company after graduation. Or if the going get tough and he got axed, at least he still have something on his resume to get a proper job and feed himself, until he is ready to pursue his passion without worrying about finance.
Perhaps my view of the world is too narrow, but I think it is also very narrow to think we can expect to survive purely on passion. Not everyone has a gift to be an entrepreneur, or to be an independent artist or musician. Heck, they are a rare breed nowadays.
As for expletives, I am okay with mild expletives used in jokes. Heck, I enjoy slightly politically incorrect jokes. But I generally don’t very highly respect people who relies on expletives to bring his messages across in factual context.
Oh ngch, comon!
How do you expect a normal guy serving NS currently to speak nicely? Inside the army, 3 out of 10 sentences are expletives.
You must be a female than, try to be in our shoe and you’ll understand.
Sure sure, but look at successful businessmen out there. How many actually have a business degree?
Its still a waste of money.
BTW, I am a guy, and I heard more expletives before, like 5 out of 10 per sentence. That does not mean I must also do the same. Perhaps though, you are right Wonderboi. I shall drop the topic of expletives. That’s for other people to discuss, not for sissies like me.
AS for business degree…… well, a bit of knowledge is good right? Perhaps the problem is not that people are signing up for business studies course, but how those who got the degree actually used what they had learned. It is not right to condemn the course as a waste of money on that basis alone.
Just my two cents worth of thought. Have a nice day.
Of course I am not talking about the course… its about people who go for certain course just becos certain people ask them to.
Good day.
