Grabbing a shower at Tekong is a very cold affair. Angry, unpleasant, cold and nasty jet of undrinkable water arrows towards your body with extreme aggression, determined to grab some heat of you to power their fury and leave you shivering in its wake. Shower at Tekong is cold.
Having a shower at home is a totally different experience. Upon flipping of the magical switch, warm water flows out. Water that runs through your body gently and slowly, taking their time, caressing you, cleansing you, massaging you and making you feel refresh before slowly making their way down into the drain, the sewage, the treatment plant, and back to your showering point again. Showering at home is warm.
Likewise, despite having temperate that is 1 degree higher than mainland, Tekong feels cold. And my home on the cooler mainland feels warm.
At home, my parents shower me with warmth, care and love in every way possible. Their small small actions to show that they really care for me and want me to rest well and enjoy my little burst of freedom on weekends make every cells on my body jump for joy, and every nerves on my body weep with thanks. At Tekong, friendship and care is winter cold compared to the desert that radiated from the heart of my loved ones.
I want to be showered with warmth, at where the warm shower is.
