Canon or Chotto

If I win the blogging competition, I’ll be getting this:
a
If I lost the competition, I’ll be getting myself (buy it with my own money) the PSP camera attachment 1.3MP:

And from the looks of it, my hope of breaking from the 1.3MP barrier, and hope of getting a camera with optical zoom is practically dashed.

If you want to be my savior, please vote for me!

ST Forum Discussion 30/01/2007

Looking at the kind of ST Forum letters that had been appearing lately, which completely succeeded in entertaining and amusing me, while at the same time betraying a lack common sense of knowledge on the part of those who wrote the letters, I’ve decided to start a new segment on my blog called ST Forum Discussion, where I share with you guys fantastic letters as well as some discussion. It is inevitable that I may offend some people with my commentary, and for that I apologize in advance.

Motorists not giving way to pedestrians at zebra crossings
I take frequent walks along Choa Chu Kang Road and Bukit Panjang Road. Although there are a number of zebra crossings along these two stretches, often cars do not give way to pedestrians who use them to cross to the other side.

Many times, the drivers pretend not to see us and continue driving at a fast speed. During heavy traffic, some motorists are forced to stop and pedestrians have to walk their way around the cars.

There are also motorists who do not stop before the stop line at the pedestrian crossings. And even when the lights are still in the pedestrians’ favour, there are impatient drivers who just can’t wait to drive on. This is a common sight in the Orchard area too.

Another selfish behaviour I have seen are cars parking in loading and unloading lots and even the handicapped lots in the car parks. This is rampant in new estates in the Choa Chu Kang and Bukit Batok areas.

Lim Kah Hoe (Ms)

This kind of thing is for ah sohs and ah sohs-to-be to chat about and tell their family one. This also don’t read like a warning to other fellow Singaporeans. It just barely points out how selfish those around you are. Write to ST got use?

Youth.sg Blogging Competition

Why I may lose!
-All my buddies are in NS, including 3 members of my gang of four! (i’m the forth). Tekong got no broadband ok!
-Often ah, girls ask other boys or girls vote, they will vote one. But boy ask boys vote? Unless you damn good friend with them, gone through life and death together with them, they can’t be bothered one. I’m at a disadvantage here.
-I’m not schooling currently, unlike many other contestants. They can get all their classmates to vote. That is easily 40 votes. Me leh? My own office only got 3 other people. :(

Why I may win!
-I made this very simple auto email form here (http://www.weikiat.net/vote) to make it easier to vote for me. Saves me the trouble of explaining how to vote many times over, and allows my voters to vote very easily.
-I hope that The Wicked players will vote for me!
-I hope that slop owners over at Slops will vote for me!
-My girlfriend is helping me to ask her friends vote! Muacks!
-My two very nice cousins also asking their friends to help out!
-My 100++ daily blog readers, please vote for me!

What I will do when I lose
I may be buying Chotto Shot, an addon for my PSP that allows it to take photos and videos. But then, its only 1.3MP. My current camera also 1.3MP. Will I ever break out of the 1.3MP barrier? I need higher resolution camera to photoshop and print!
And also, sad lor.

What I will do when I win
Wait for my photographer friend book out during weekend, and go on a photo taking spree! Also, take tonnes of photos with me and my dear, and continue building up my Gallery site!

Whatever. Just vote for me. Nobody will regret it.

How to vote? Very simple! Go here.

ST Forum Discussion 27/01/2007

Looking at the kind of ST Forum letters that had been appearing lately, which completely succeeded in entertaining and amusing me, while at the same time betraying a lack common sense of knowledge on the part of those who wrote the letters, I’ve decided to start a new segment on my blog called ST Forum Discussion, where I share with you guys fantastic letters as well as some discussion. Bad experience with anti-virus software
Let me relate my bad experience with Norton products.

The Norton Anti-Virus program had been working fine on my notebook but not since I upgraded it to Norton Internet Security 2006.

Initially, I thought it could provide greater protection to my notebook compared to just Norton Anti-Virus. But this was where my nightmare started.

Most of the time, my notebook failed to shut down completely. It just hanged at the Windows shut-down screen and I have to do a manual shut-down.

When the notebook is turned on again, it will indicate that ‘incomplete shut-down was encountered previously’ and it will have to do a disk check. I have found that to minimise that ‘hanging problem’, I need to disable Norton Internet Security before shutting down the notebook. But I am sure this is not the way the Norton Internet Security program functions.

When I renewed my Norton Internet Security 2006 in December last year, I could not activate the renewal subscription after I have entered the activation key given by Norton. I called the helpdesk only to realise that the activation key given to me was a used one. Though the helpdesk support eventually gave me a new activation key, my confidence level with Norton products has dropped.

Tay Sok Khoon

My take:
1) I think this person is weirder from the previous. Product got problem, still want continue buying? Then buy liao complain to a Newspaper?
2) Manual shutdown? More like pulling the plug before letting the computer shut down properly.
3) Windows fail to shut down completely? Hang at the shut down screen? Do you think that Norton is still running when your computer shuts down?
4) You already said, disabling Norton minimized the problem. It can easily be concluded that your observation is due to fact that unconsciously you are already blaming Norton, thus disabling Norton will “minimize” your problem, which does not happen all the time. The problem is due to Windows, not Norton.
5) Activation key was a used one? How has Norton got to do with it? Can they control people using key generators to generate authentic keys to register their pirated software? Can they make sure the illegal key generators did not generate the key assigned to you? It is already very good of them to assign you a new one.
6) Someone complained about Norton previously and you followed. One big copycat.
7) And I still don’t get it, why complain to newspaper? I know you want to seek attention. But ended up making a fool of yourself. Not very good.

One of the players of The Wicked had passed away…

I got the following email from BizFantast, a puzzle site created by one of The Wicked players:

Dear BizFantast Members,

We are sorry to hear the news that Kitty, our dear member, has passed away about two weeks ago. We do not know of the exact reasons, but Kitty has once told me that she was hospitalized due to a heart-ache, she has always been weak.

I did not know about the news until Medi sent me a message. Kitty has been an active member of the BizFantast main puzzle and my personal Photoshop mentor. We are all very sad about her departure.

To Kitty: You may not see this but whatever you left for us, will remain with us till the very end.

Regards,
Vee Tian
http://www.bizfantast.com

Kitty joined The Wicked in the fateful afternoon of Apr 30 2006 at 03:01 AM and was last active on Jul 8 2006, 11:11 AM, probably due to my lack of updates at The Wicked, because I was busy with school work.

She was a fantastic player, and was the first who managed to reach level 61. She’s also one of the rare committed and intelligent players on The Wicked.

Let us observe one minute of silence, to the passing of such a fantastic individual who was unfortunately given a weak body.

indeed -_-
she came from TheWicked — her favourite was always Wicked… sigh

Me, as the creator of The Wicked, sincerely hope that the game had given her fun, sense of satisfaction and fantastic memories during the short period where our life crossed (at least, on the internet), and brought to her smiles during her short life on this world.

Kitty’s profile can be found here.
The topic regarding level 61 can be found here.
Kitty’s blog.

Goodbye, Kitty.
